This is my portable looping station, put together for a busking trip to Paris. Everything packs up nice onto the trolley (speaker/power) and a rucksack (laptop and controller).
It’s pretty heavy and will be difficult up and down stairs, but the plus side is that it will last for about 4 hours and it’s nice and loud with a good bass response.
I’ve recently updated my live looping setup. The biggest improvement is made by using the looper instrument in live8. This finally allows me to create loops around my patterns, rather than having to fit my patterns around a prefixed tempo.
My system uses a few puredata patches to manage the user interface. The wiimote and the bcr2000 handle all control and feedback requirements via puredata.
If you’re interested, here is an archive of all the config files.
micromattic is the name of my latest project with Nikolay (aka microwave). He is mixing and remixing his own material and other artist’s tracks. I’m producing sounds, layers, atmospheres, beats and crazy sounds and we’re mixing them together in a minimalist way (and sometimes maximalist!)
Here are some demo sounds from my end. They are more max than minimal because they are the results of my own practice – not both of us together. You’ll have to wait for that!
