Finally I had an opportunity to play around with this cool stuff! Silvia and I built this Chladni plate from a blown speaker and some recycled components. We were inspired by this instructable. I used Processing to make a simple sine wave generator with volume, coarse and fine frequency control.

I was inspired to make a harmonograph simulator by reading the book “Harmonograph” by Anthony Ashton. You can play with the settings and see what different harmonies look like when visualised on a 2D plane. Click the image to have a go!
I wrote the simulator with processing, an easy to use programming front end to java. You can download the source code from the applet page.
I’ve finished the first version of the virtual graffiti system, which is now fully published (including all code) on the instructables website.
We ran a demo at the blue hut youth club on Thursday where it was very well received!
